Team Leader

A leading manufacturing company in Zimbabwe, dedicated to providing high-quality products to their customers is currently seeking experienced Team Leaders to join their production team.

The Team Leaders will be responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a relevant qualification, as well as strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and instrument fields.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the production process and ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Manage and lead a team of production workers, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Ensure that all production processes are carried out safely and efficiently.

  • Monitor and maintain production equipment, identifying and resolving any issues as they arise.

  • Develop and implement production schedules and production plans to optimize productivity.

  • Ensure that all production documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure that production processes are streamlined and efficient.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve production processes and implement changes as needed.

  • Train new team members on production processes and procedures.


Essential Experience and Competencies Required:

  • Technical Knowledge: The ideal candidate should have technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and instrument fields.

  • Production Experience: The candidate should have experience in production management, preferably in a plastics manufacturing environment.

  • Process Knowledge: Knowledge of HDPE Extrusion Blow molding, Injection blow molding, and Stretch blow molding processes is essential.

  • Services Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of services equipment such as ABC compressors, Atlas Copco compressors, Tranne Chiller, Teva Cooling towers, and Diesel generators are necessary.

  • Raw Material Knowledge: Knowledge of HDPE and PET materials is essential.

  • Machine Setting and Process Optimization Knowledge: The candidate should possess knowledge of machine setting and process optimization, including Urola machines, Unilloy machines, Ferromatik machines, Sipa machines, Rapid Grinders, and Maguire blenders.

  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of 500ml-5 Litre HDPE bottles, HDPE Closures, and PET bottles 200ml-2000ml is essential.

  • Information Technology: The candidate should be proficient in the use of information technology tools such as SAP, Programming, Drives, and MS Packages.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent delegation, communication, conflict handling, monitoring, controlling, problem-solving, and follow-up skills are required. The candidate should be flexible, possess integrity, energy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
