Administrator — Quality and Development

The Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB)’s mission is to promote transparency and accountability in business through effective regulation of the accountancy profession in Zimbabwe in accordance with internationally recognised standards.

We serve the public interest by setting high standards of accountancy education, reporting and audit and holding to account those responsible for delivering them. We also adopt and prescribe standards for accounting and auditing and monitor and take action to promote the quality of reporting and operate joint enforcement arrangements for accountants.

The role is part of the Education Division, which encompasses the PAAB’s quality and development functions. The role is based in our Harare Office. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team’s activities and provide cover within the PAAB as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically, the role will involve the following:


  • Manage existing systems to ensure good record-keeping of the educational programmes.

  • Provide data analytics insights to support marketing efforts.

  • Create and generate reports as required and provide periodic updates on education activities.

  • Assist with co-ordinating quality and development activities.

  • Prepare and monitor education programs calendar.

  • Assist in the organisation of events.

  • Act as a point of contact for the Auditor Development Program candidates, dealing with enquiries and providing support.

  • Handle all telephone calls and provide customer service at front desk.


Qualifications and Experience

  • A highly organised and focused person, able to multi-task and manage workload to ensure that priorities are met.

  • At least 2 years previous experience providing administrative support to a busy team is essential.

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in business.

  • Self-motivated, with great communication skills, and able to build strong relationships.

  • Experience with client relations, membership programmes or certification programmes is a plus.

  • Positive attitude, ability to work as part of a team and a high degree of initiative.

  • Willingness to support other activities within the PAAB as necessary.


Skills required

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills is a plus.

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to produce clear and accurate documents and reports.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills; ability to gather facts/statistics.
