Sales Consultant

A leading financial institution in the banking and finance sector, with a commitment to providing personalized financial solutions to its clients is currently seeking a motivated and talented Sales Consultant to join its team at its Bulawayo branch.

As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for promoting their financial products and services to potential clients, as well as maintaining existing client relationships.

You will also assist the Branch Manager in deposit mobilization through customer acquisition, customer relationship management to facilitate increase in market share.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Attend and participate in business functions, exhibitions, and marketing campaigns to create awareness of our branch's products and services.

  • Prospect new businesses through cold calls and setting appointments for presentations in liaison with the Branch Manager.

  • Advise customers on investment options and refer them to treasury for further assistance and calculations.

  • Receive deal notes from treasury and forward them to customers.

  • Make scheduled courtesy calls or visits to check on customer satisfaction, give updates on product development, and attend to queries where necessary.

  • Monitor and analyze changes in customer needs and expectations to ensure loyalty.

  • Monitor existing business performance and trends to enable early detection of business opportunities and adverse trends.

  • Receive indemnities, power of attorney instructions, and letters of administrations, and capture them in the system.

  • Process account closure instructions and customer mandate changes.

  • Interview walk-in clients for loan applications and determine the correct product in line with their needs.

  • Facilitate the compilation of KnowYour Customer (KYC) documents for account opening for information and future reference purposes.

  • Interview and counsel loan applicants to ensure correct information is captured and analyze their financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.

  • Prepare credit and portfolio reports to facilitate informed decision making in loan processing.

  • Process disbursements of funds by posting in the loan tracking system.

  • Check that all customer documents are KYC compliant and handled in line with the declaration of secrecy.

  • Undertake teller and vault checks when requested by the branch manager or operations officer to ensure security of funds.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing or equivalent

  • Corporate professional qualification ie CIM/IMM or equivalent.
