Import/Export Procurement and Demand Planning Manager

We are seeking an Import/Export Procurement and Demand Planning Manager to join our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of imported and exported goods and developing demand planning strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of imported and exported goods

  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders

  • Logistics – keeping track of orders and following up where there is any issue. Keeping track of stock in our warehouse in SA.  knowing when to ‘build a truck’ for import.

  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with customs regulations

  • Develop demand planning strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels

  • Issuing all Purchase orders and ensuring delivery and checking GP% for Authorisation.

  • Prepare invoices and build trucks for export from SA to ZIM.

  • Liaise with clearing Agents/BV/Logistics/ITAC etc. China Procurement/logistics/costings.

  • Tender Procurement/ Logistics/costings. Dealing with specific suppliers and negotiating pricing.

  • Analyze sales forecasts and inventory levels to identify potential supply chain issues and develop contingency plans

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment of demand planning with business objectives

  • Develop and monitor procurement budgets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with all import and export regulations and procedures

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and freight forwarders

  • Manage and develop a team of procurement and demand planning professionals


Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in import/export procurement and demand planning management
