PHP Developer

WebDev Zimbabwe is a fast-growing web development company that provides hosting, web design, and development services to clients in Zimbabwe and beyond.

We are currently looking to hire a skilled PHP Developer who will work on both our WHMCS hosting billing platform and customer WordPress websites.

The PHP Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining our WHMCS hosting billing platform and customer WordPress websites.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, proven work experience as a PHP, MySQL, and WordPress developer, development tool expertise with Git, Linux command line and shell, unit testing, bug tracking and workflows, and IDEs.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain our WHMCS hosting billing platform and customer WordPress websites

  • Develop and customize WHMCS modules, reports, and templates to meet specific business requirements.

  • Perform code reviews according to the code standards of WHMCS

  • Integrate WHMCS with third-party systems, APIs, and payment gateways.

  • Work with front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery

  • Debug issues using tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug

  • Collaborate with other developers and designers to ensure the website architecture and aesthetics are optimal

  • Ensure the websites are responsive and optimized for mobile devices

  • Follow coding best practices and development standards

  • Provide technical support and documentation to assist internal teams and clients.

  • Write clean and maintainable code

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or anything related

  • Proven work experience as a PHP, MySQL, and WordPress developer

  • Development tool expertise with Git; Linux command line and shell; unit testing; bug tracking & workflows; IDEs

  • Able to successfully and efficiently perform code reviews according to the code standards of WHMCS

  • Experience with front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.

  • Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.

  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics

  • Good communication skills
