Head of Credit Control

Our client is a market leader in the transport and logistics industry. They are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Head of Credit Control. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic organization and lead the credit control function. The package includes a gross salary of $2000 USD.

Job Summary:
As the Head of Credit Control, you will be responsible for developing and implementing credit control policies and procedures, managing a team of Credit Controllers, and ensuring efficient collections and management of the debtor book. You will also be expected to provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management, build relationships with key stakeholders, and resolve customer queries related to credit control matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures to ensure effective management of credit risk.

  • Oversee the credit reporting process, including the credit application process for new customers.

  • Manage and lead a team of Credit Controllers, providing guidance and support.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sales, operations, and customers.

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management, highlighting credit control performance and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure efficient collections and management of the debtor book.

  • Monitor and track exchange losses/gains resulting from currency fluctuations.

  • Review the performance of the credit control team and implement necessary training or improvements.

  • Ensure timely production and circulation of all credit control-related reports.

  • Resolve customer queries related to credit control matters.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional qualification such as CIS/ACCA is advantageous.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Good business acumen and problem-solving abilities.

  • Confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders.

  • Persistence, tenacity, and assertiveness in credit control activities.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

  • Advanced MS Excel and computer skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.
