Victoria Foods is looking for a skilled and motivated Assistant Fitter to join our dynamic team in Gweru. As an Assistant Fitter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing operations.

Your technical expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth running of our production processes. Join us in ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our manufacturing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct routine maintenance and repair work on machinery and equipment.

  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery.

  • Perform inspections and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve mechanical problems.

  • Assist in the fabrication and modification of components as required.

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to coordinate and prioritize tasks.

  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

  • Monitor machinery performance and recommend improvements or optimizations.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 'O' levels, including Mathematics, Science, and English.

  • Technical qualification in a relevant field.

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is an added advantage.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques.

  • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
