Summary


Stores Assistant is responsible for issuing and managing inventory to user departments.


Qualifications and Experience



  • A higher National Diploma / Degree in Accounting or Purchasing and Supply management

  • At least 2 years of relevant post qualification working experience


Skills and competences



  • Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Stores Assistant has a wide range of responsibilities, which include:

  • Managing inventory through checking and verifying re-order levels.

  • Raising purchase requisitions for stock replenishment purposes.

  • Inspecting and receiving merchandise from suppliers.

  • Maintenance of warehouses, ensuring an orderly arrangement of inventories for easy retrieval when issuing.

  • Issuing of inventory to user departments

  • Updating of inventory management records

  • Performing inventory checks and balances on a daily basis

  • Participating in monthly and year end stock counts.

  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
