Purchasing Clerk (Contract)

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis. The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for ensuring that all goods and services procured by HIS are of high quality and comply with the school's policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will work closely with various departments within the school to ensure that their procurement needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Inspect prospective supplier documentation to ensure compliance with HIS procedures

  • Participate in the creation or update of an approved suppliers list by checking references, price lists, and quality of goods

  • Obtain approved internal requisitions for goods and services from various HIS departments

  • Ensure timely delivery of goods

  • Ensure that all goods are received in line with the Financial Procedures Manual

  • Reconcile fuel usage against fuel cards

  • Maintain and update an accurate fixed assets register

  • Monitor and restock resource levels with approval from the Business Manager and publish tender initiations approved by Management


Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least a diploma in Purchasing and Supply

  • Two years of experience in purchasing and stores management

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and procedures

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
