Financial Controller (Transit, Overload, Abnormal load fees & Fuel levy)

ZINARA is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller (TRANSIT, OVERLOAD, ABNORMAL LOAD FEES & FUEL LEVY) to join its dynamic team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing revenue assurance by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems for the tolling revenue stream accounting.
This hands-on role requires strong involvement in various accounting functions, including monthly financial reporting, journal financial statements, revenue analysis and presentation, and ensuring compliance with International Accounting Standards. Reporting to the Manager Management Accounting, you will contribute to the overall financial integrity and success of ZINARA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate, prepare, and present detailed daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue reports.
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls, maintain proper communication with management, and track remediation actions as necessary.
- Reconcile tolling New Limpopo Bridge (NLB) revenue streams, including bank deposit slips against bank statements, cash-ups, and banking summaries against deposit slips, and identify and address any variances between commission charged and revenue collected.
- Engage continuously with the Ministry of Transport Infrastructural Development (MoTID) regarding commissions through email correspondence and meetings.
- Train, deploy, and supervise revenue assurance clerks and data capturers.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and present them to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly flash accounts to provide timely financial updates.
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual cash flow reports.
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 O' Levels, including Mathematics and English.
- 2 A' Level passes or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Postgraduate Professional qualification such as ACCA/CIMA/CIS.
- A Master's degree is an added advantage.
