Zinara is a well-established organization responsible for administering and managing road infrastructure in Zimbabwe. As a key player in the transportation sector, we are committed to ensuring efficient and effective road networks for the benefit of the public.
We are currently seeking four Payroll Assistants to join our team and contribute to the accurate and timely processing of payroll and statutory payments.
The Payroll Assistant positions at Zinara are responsible for administering the payroll cycle compliance, statutory requirements, and rewards management policies and procedures. As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in processing payroll inputs, verifying payment claims, maintaining payroll master data, and generating pay slips.
Your attention to detail, adherence to policies, and accuracy in payroll processing will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our payroll system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify payment claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Process payroll data for timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Capture and update payroll master data in the Payroll System.
- Generate and issue pay slips to employees, resolving any salary queries.
- Compile monthly journals for accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare reconciliations for staff loans, Medical Aid subscriptions, and Funeral policy subscriptions.
- Manage the filing and organization of employee documents, including leave forms and medical aid forms.
- Register new employees with Pensions Officer, NSSA, and Old Mutual, processing pension claims upon terminations.
- Assess the creditworthiness of staff members and make recommendations for further approval.
- Process statutory payments and submit returns to the relevant authorities.
- Generate and prepare monthly payroll reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 O'Level passes, including Mathematics or Accounts and English.
- 2 A'Level passes or equivalent.
- Degree in Human Resources or Social Science.
- Possession of or studying towards a Diploma in Human Resources or Payroll Administration.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in payroll processing.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of labour legislation and statutory requirements.
