Receiving and Dispatch Supervisor

MSU is seeking a qualified and experienced Receiving and Dispatch Supervisor to join our team. The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the receiving department, ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt of stock, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Monitor the unloading of all stock into the receiving department.

  • Ensure thorough checking, counting, and inspection of stock upon receipt.

  • Verify that stock received matches the order placed.

  • Adhere to cold chain principles during the receiving and merchandising of perishable stock.

  • Monitor the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.

  • Ensure that supplier invoices conform to ZIMRA VAT Invoice requirements.

  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

  • Collaborate with the floor and receiving teams to manage expiries and breakages within the budget and enforce the stock rotation policy.

  • Record all soon-to-expire stock in the expiries book and communicate the information to the Buyer for appropriate action.

  • Participate in scheduled stock takes and assist the Loss Control team in locating products during stock counts, ensuring stock integrity.

  • Oversee the movement of materials from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.

  • Ensure 100% compliance with cleanliness and hygiene standards in the warehouse area.

  • Maintain fixtures and fittings (shelving, fridges, lighting) in good order.

  • Monitor safety standards and address workplace hazards, such as fire safety or potential injuries.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management/Retail Management.

  • 5 "O" levels, including Mathematics and English.

  • At least 2 years of experience in the retail supermarket FMCG industry.

  • Understanding of Human Resource Management concepts.

  • Familiarity with various statutes governing the operations of a retail supermarket.
