Graduate Trainee: Mining Engineering – Zambezi Gas and Coal Mine

Zambezi Gas and Coal Mine, a fast-growing coal mine that supplies coal to all sectors of the economy seeks to consider suitable and qualified candidates for the above-mentioned positions.


Zambezi Gas and Coal Mine is offering exciting Graduate Trainee opportunities to dedicated and ambitious young graduates to undergo an intensive 24 months in – house training program in the following discipline:



  • Mining Engineering.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assist in ensuring definition of the Mine Planning processes, systems, inputs, planning guidelines and outcomes

  • Assist in defining the system support requirements and ensuring their introduction and effective utilisation to deliver timely and accurate mine plans and schedules

  • Contribute on reporting of progress against plan, highlighting variances and action required to address these

  • Assist in evaluation and interpretation of the Geological model and the preparation of an optimised Mine plan and mining sequence, ensuring delivery of the following:

  • Take part in Budget outcomes

  • Participate in Mining and support services direction

  • Ensuring that all legal obligations are met.

  • Delivering the required outcomes within the constraints of the current equipment

  • Take part in the evaluation of geological data and resource information and the provision of regular reserve reconciliations to enable accurate reserve depletion status to be determined

  • Participate in the transfer of knowledge and training of other employees within the Mining Technical Department.


Qualifications and Experience



  • A relevant degree from a reputable and recognized University.

  • A degree class Upper second or better.

  • 26 years of age or below.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
