Truck Mechanic - Dieftrack Marketing (SpeedBulk)
We are an established company in the Transport Industry and we are seeking an experienced candidate for the following position in our workshop:
Truck Mechanic
Key Accountabilities
- Detecting truck issues
- Attending to breakdowns
- Clutch installation and removal including gearbox and differential unit
- Servicing trucks, including checking oil, wheel alignment and testing batteries
- Ensuring the road worthiness of trucks and undertaking preventive maintenance
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Adjusting and relining brakes, aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment
- Raising trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
Qualifications and Competencies
- Trade Tested Class 1 Mechanic with experience in trucks
- An additional technical qualification will be an added advantage
- Ability to meet deadlines and paying attention to detail.
- 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Truck Mechanic
- Knowledge of Argosy trucks
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems such as hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems
- Extensive experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment
