Assistant Accountant - Debtors (FMCG Manufacturing Sector)

An organisation in the FMCG Manufacturing sector is looking for a motivated and trustworthy Assistant Accountant – Debtors to join their team.

The successful candidate must be an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. Accounting Assistants can expect to assist the Accounting department with data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and reports. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.

To be a successful Assistant Accountant, you should have an understanding of basic Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as Pastel or FreshBooks or MS Excel or Quickbooks. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Preparing monthly reconciliations and expense analysis.

  • Carrying our credit control and debtors management.

  • Participating in stock takes.

  • Preparing lead schedules for financial statements and management accounts.

  • Managing Debtors Module.

  • Maintaining debtors document files.

  • Adhering to safety health environment and quality systems.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting

  • Experience in an FMCG Accounting environment is a huge plus.

  • Work accurately under pressure and meet set deadlines.

  • Knowledge of Pastel Evolution/ Excel/ Sage 1000. Qualifications: Degree in Accounting.
