Auto Electrician (Class 1) - Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC)

Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (Pvt) Ltd (ZCDC), a World Class Diamond Producer for the long-term benefit of Zimbabwe seeks applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and self-driven candidates to be considered for the above position that has arisen in the business.

Your duties will include installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with vehicle electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical equipment for mining machinery.

To ensure success as an auto electrician, you should have extensive knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems, have a good eye for detail, and be able to problem-solve complex electrical problems. Ultimately, a top-notch auto electrician can install, troubleshoot and repair any electrical system in a vehicle.

Reporting to the Engineering Foreman, the job is based at the Mine in Chiadzwa.

Duties and Responsibilities




  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

  • Conducting electrical repairs and servicing of all electrical on mobile equipment.

  • Carrying out daily inspection and routine checks on mobile equipment.

  • Ensuring that breakdowns are resolved in shortest possible time.

  • Operating electronic diagnostic equipment.

  • Ensuring proper documentation is done for record keeping.

  • Interpreting electrical circuits and drawings.


Qualifications and Experience




  • Five (5) O Levels including English, Mathematics and Science.

  • National Certificate in Auto Electrics.

  • Apprentice trained Class 1Auto Electrician.

  • 3 years post apprenticeship experience in a Mining or Heavy Engineering environment.

  • CAT and BELL equipment knowledge an added advantage.

  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems.
