Claims Surveyor (Mutorashanga) - Zimasco

Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production, has some exciting and challenging career opportunities in its Mining Division. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant post in the Division on a contract basis.

CLAIMS SURVEYOR - MUTORASHANGA

We are looking for an analytical Claims Surveyor to conduct land surveys and perform mathematical calculations with a high level of accuracy. Your measurements and calculations will be used for various construction and engineering projects in order to aid the decision-making and design process.


This role requires hands-on experience with engineering instruments and knowledge of GPS and GIS systems. To succeed as a surveyor, you should also have great mathematical and analytical skills, and a good eye for measurements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc Degree in Surveying and Geomatics

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in Land and Mine Surveying.

  • Class 4 Driver’s licence.

  • Computer literate, in the Microsoft, Mining Software MAPTEK and SAP programmes is an added advantage.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Carrying out Routine Surface and Underground Surveys

  • Supervising claims inspection and maintenance teams

  • Compilation of Development and Production Reports.

  • Updating of Underground and Surface Plans.

  • Interpreting and ensuring legal compliance on the mining law

  • Knowledge and experience in use of a drone will be an added advantage
