Operations Engineer

Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) invites applications  from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the following Contract Position that has arisen at Munyati Power Station

Operations Engineer

As an Operations Engineer, you will oversee and work to optimize the operational processes of the plant performance at Munyati Power Station. You will maintain or design more efficient workflows, enhance equipment operations or optimize the use of resources.

In this career, your primary responsibilities include designing power plant layouts, assisting with technical operations, analyzing machinery and the power plant, running tests, and implementing changes.

You are in charge of conducting investigations and using engineering theories and principles to improve the systems performance. Your duties also include updating systems, overseeing the repair of machinery, providing preemptive maintenance, and documenting operational procedures and processes. As an operations engineer, you must always be looking to improve quality and efficiency and cut costs.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Conducting Plant performance measurements and analysis

  • Compiling generation statistics records

  • Consolidating operations annual budgets

  • Providing technical advice and assistance

  • Planning and performing key project works based on Station requirements

  • Coal stock management


Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)

  • Membership of a recognized Professional Institution

  • 2 years Post Graduate experience
