Fleet Manager Ref# TRZW840

A local company is looking for candidates with strong organizational skills and excellent quantitative abilities to fill the Fleet Manager position that has arisen within their thriving business.

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for recruiting quality drivers into the fleet, maintaining accurate records of vehicle servicing and inspections, scheduling regular maintenance, and ensuring operational efficiency, among other duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, fueling, and cleaning.

  • Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

  • Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures that align with the company's overall objectives.

  • Manage vehicle-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and insurance.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and human resources, to ensure that the fleet is meeting the needs of the company.

  • Monitor driver behaviour and performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.

  • Ensure that all vehicles are compliant with safety regulations and that drivers are following safety guidelines.

  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and pricing.

  • Prepare and provide regular reports on fleet operations to senior management.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Journeyman class 1 mechanic with a diploma or degree in transport and logistics.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar management role, coordinating logistical processes for a large fleet of pick ups and box trucks.

  • Strong understanding of fleet operations and logistics.

  • Experience in managing vehicle maintenance, repairs, and expenses.
