Production Clerk

Zimasco is a leading ferrochrome producer in Zimbabwe. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the following vacant post in the Mining Division on a contract basis.

We are seeking a competent and experienced Production Clerk to join our team. The Production Clerk will be responsible for supporting the production team by performing administrative tasks and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collects samples of gold ore at specific points as directed by the Geologist.

  • Deliver samples to the lab for tests for conformance to specifications.

  • Account for gold ore dispatching at the mine and receiving at the plant.

  • Maintain production records, including production reports, quality control reports, and inventory records

  • Assist with scheduling production runs and coordinating materials and equipment needed for production

  • Monitor production processes to ensure that production goals are met and that quality standards are maintained

  • Communicate with production team members to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently

  • Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics and maintenance, to ensure that production runs smoothly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner

  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and answering phone calls

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as needed


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 O levels including Mathematics and English.

  • Clean class 4 driver’s license.

  • A qualification in sampling or ore quality control is an added advantage.

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a Gold mining and processing environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of CIL (Carbon in Leach) plants.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Clean criminal record.

  • A background in contractor management.
