Project Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the design, construction, and implementation of infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, as well as a strong understanding of project management processes. You will be reporting to The Head Technical Services and Business Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, construction, and implementation of infrastructure projects

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets

  • Oversee the execution of all projects, ensuring relevant regulatory compliance throughout the projects lifecycle.

  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders

  • Prepare project reports and presentations for clients, senior management, and other stakeholders

  • Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice

  • Prepare design concepts, drawings, BOQs, project specifications, and tender documents for projects and make recommendations to the Head of Technical and Business Development.

  • Review and oversee consultancy and co-development partners’ designs, that includes but not limited to, buildings, roads, stormwater drainage, water, and sewer reticulation.

  • Prepare and present project status reports to the Head of Technical Services and Business Development.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management.

  • Registration with the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers

  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience
