Regional Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager

Our international client is seeking a Regional Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager to join their team in Africa. The Regional ESG Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the company's ESG policies and practices across the region.

The successful candidate will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe or Lilongwe, Malawi.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement the company's ESG policies and practices in line with regional regulations and best practices.

  • Work with internal teams, including operations, finance, and legal, to ensure that ESG considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.

  • Conduct ESG risk assessments and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and community groups, to build partnerships and promote ESG initiatives.

  • Monitor and report on the company's ESG performance, including key performance indicators and progress toward sustainability goals.

  • Manage external reporting, including sustainability reporting and ESG ratings and rankings.

  • Provide training and education to employees and stakeholders on ESG practices and initiatives.

  • Keep up-to-date with changes in ESG regulations and reporting standards.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Science, Environmental Science, Management, or a related qualification.

  • Experience in an Agro-processing or manufacturing environment.

  • 5 years of experience in risk management.

  • 3 years of project management or environment or statistical management.

  • Ability to meet International ESG targets for the African Region.
