Research and Development Assistant

A local pharmaceutical company committed to delivering high-quality and affordable medicines in Zimbabwe is looking for a talented and motivated Research and Development Assistant to join their vibrant team.

The Research and Development Assistant will be responsible for supporting the research and development team in the development of new products and improvement of existing products.

The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent research and analytical skills, and a commitment to quality and innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct research on new products and technologies

  • Prepare reports on research findings and present results to the research and development team

  • Assist with the development and improvement of pharmaceutical products

  • Work with other team members to design and execute experiments and studies

  • Analyze experimental data and prepare reports and presentations on findings

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and assist with laboratory maintenance

  • Participate in the development of regulatory documentation and applications

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in pharmaceutical research and development

  • Collaborate with other departments as needed

  • Analytical Method development

  • Validation, Verification and Routine analysis

  • Stability testing and Biowaver studies

  • Budget plan for research and development analysis

  • Calibration of equipment and Documentation (SOP writing, report writing etc)


Qualifications and Experience:

  • First degree in Applied Chemistry.

  • At least 2 years post attachment experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Well-organised and able to work with tight deadlines
