Cake Fairy is a leading bakery and catering company based in Bulawayo and Harare, Zimbabwe. We specialize in creating delicious and beautiful cakes, pastries, and other baked goods for all occasions.

We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in Harare. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a creative flair.

The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including cakes, pastries, and other baked goods, as well as overseeing the kitchen operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including cakes, pastries, and other baked goods, according to established recipes and procedures

  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner

  • Oversee the kitchen operations, including managing inventory, ordering supplies, and supervising kitchen staff

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and ensure that all equipment is in working order

  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

  • Develop new recipes and menus to meet customer needs and preferences

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 ordinary level passes including English Language

  • National Certificate in Professional Cookery

  • National Diploma in professional cookery

  • Certificate in culinary arts or relevant field

  • Class one in the related trade will be an added advantage

  • At least 2 years proven history in Catering operations.

  • Great attention to detail and creativity.

  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.

  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and and nutrition.

  • Working knowledge of cooking with ingredient limitations.
