Economist

Technological & Commercial Information Promotion System (TIPS) is an information hub for training and capacity building run by the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) in Zimbabwe.

Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality training and capacity-building services to our clients. We are seeking an Economist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Economics, a minimum of 2 years of experience, and proficiency in statistical programs such as SPSS and STATA.

As an Economist, you will be responsible for conducting economic research, analyzing data, and developing policy recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conducting economic research and analyzing data to identify economic trends and issues.

  • Developing models and using statistical software to analyze data and make economic forecasts.

  • Preparing reports and presentations on economic issues and trends.

  • Providing economic analysis and advice to clients and stakeholders.

  • Developing policy recommendations based on economic research and analysis.

  • Keeping up-to-date with economic developments and trends.

  • Collaborating with other team members to deliver high-quality training and capacity-building services to clients.

  • Providing timely and accurate reports to the management team on the company's operations and performance.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Economics.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Proficiency in statistical programs such as SPSS and STATA.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
