Financial Accountant

Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd is a leading timber-producing and marketing company in Zimbabwe. The company operates in the forestry industry and is responsible for the production and marketing of timber products.

Our duty is to provide high-quality timber products to meet the needs of our customers, while also contributing to the sustainable development of the forestry industry in Zimbabwe.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends and variances

  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts

  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures

  • Participate in audits and ensure timely and accurate responses to audit requests

  • Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations

  • Provide financial analysis and support to management


Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Accounting

  • CIS/ACCA qualification is an added advantage

  • High accuracy level and numeracy

  • Financial and business acumen

  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Critical and analytical thinking

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to use a variety of Accounting software
