Land Surveyor

Fossil Contracting is a Zimbabwean contracting firm specializing in civil works, contract mining, road construction, earthworks, building and structural works, and plant hire.

We are committed to delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients and exceed their expectations. We are currently seeking a Land Surveyor to join our team.

The Land Surveyor will be responsible for performing land surveys to ensure that all construction projects are completed accurately and within budget.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure that all surveying work is completed on time and to the required standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform land surveys to determine the exact location and measurements of boundaries, buildings, and other structures

  • Prepare survey reports, maps, and drawings

  • Liaise with project managers and engineers to ensure that all surveying work is completed accurately and on time

  • Use surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners

  • Ensure that all surveying work is performed in compliance with relevant laws and regulations

  • Maintain accurate records of survey data and ensure that all documentation is up to date

  • Provide technical advice and support to the project team as required


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Surveying and Geomatics

  • At least 2 years of experience, especially in structures

  • Knowledge of integrated management systems is an added advantage

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
