Recovery Officer

Lion Finance Zimbabwe is a leading microfinance institution that provides financial solutions to individuals and businesses in Zimbabwe. We are currently looking for a highly motivated Recovery Officer to join our team.

The Recovery Officer will be responsible for managing the company's loan recovery process and minimizing the company's loan default rate.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in debt recovery/lending, a business degree or equivalent, and a credit management or microfinance qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement debt recovery strategies and processes

  • Communicate with delinquent borrowers to negotiate payment plansand resolve outstanding debts

  • Manage the company's loan portfolio and ensure timely repayments

  • Conduct credit analysis and risk assessments to minimize the company's exposure to bad debt

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external debt collectors and legal professionals

  • Prepare and present reports on loan recovery activities to management

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to debt recovery and lending

  • Provide training and support to other team members on loan recovery processes and procedures


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in debt recovery/lending

  • Business degree or equivalent

  • Credit Management or microfinance qualification will be an added advantage
