Volunteer Field Officer
Catalyst Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to promoting gender equality and improving the lives of vulnerable girls in Zimbabwe.
We are seeking a mature and organized Field Officer to join our team in Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Catalyst Foundation is seeking volunteers who are passionate about the mission of the organization and are willing to contribute their time and skills to support the S.H.E. Programme.
While this is an unpaid position, it offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in community development and make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable girls in Zimbabwe.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct community assessments to identify the needs and challenges faced by vulnerable girls in Chibombo, Zambia.
- Support the implementation of the S.H.E. Programme, which is designed to remove the barriers preventing girls from accessing an education.
- Collaborate with community leaders and partners to promote the S.H.E. Programme, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to identify and engage vulnerable girls who could benefit from the S.H.E. Programme.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to S.H.E. Programme beneficiaries, including regular check-ins and referrals to other services as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of S.H.E. Programme activities and outcomes, and share relevant information with the Programme Manager and other stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance S.H.E. Programme implementation and development.
- Other duties as assigned by the Programme Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Development Studies, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in community-based programmes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of community development principles and practices, particularly in the areas of gender, health, and education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management software.
- Fluency in English and local languages spoken in Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe.
