Zimbabwe Mining Safety, Health, and Environmental Council Trust (ZIMSHEC) is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Finance and Accounting Intern to join their organization.

As an intern, you will gain practical experience and contribute to various finance and accounting tasks. Your role will involve preparing payment vouchers, capturing payments and receipts, assisting with budgeting, financial reporting, and implementing financial policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare payment vouchers accurately and efficiently.

  • Capture payments and receipts in the cash book, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.

  • Assist in the procurement of organizational requirements, considering cost-effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the preparation of projects and activities budgets.

  • Assist with receipting and banking procedures.

  • File financial, administration, and human resources documents, ensuring proper organization and easy retrieval.

  • Prepare project financial reports, providing accurate and comprehensive information.

  • Follow up on project acquittals, ensuring timely completion and compliance.

  • Contribute to the implementation of financial policies, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.

  • Utilize accounting packages and demonstrate a basic understanding of their functionality.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently studying towards attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • Possessing a basic understanding of any accounting package is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.

  • Proficient in using computer applications, including spreadsheets and accounting software.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop practical skills in finance and accounting.
