Aspect Mining seeks an experienced Diesel Plant Fitter to join our team. This hands-on role maintains critical underground equipment to ensure smooth mining operations. Our ideal candidate is a qualified artisan committed to safety and equipment reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned, preventative and predictive maintenance on diesel equipment

  • Conduct repairs on components like engines, hydraulic systems and electrical circuits

  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and diagnose technical issues efficiently

  • Liaise with engineers and provide input regarding maintenance strategy

  • Ensure workshops and work areas meet high standards of organization and cleanliness

  • Maintain documentation, records and reports related to equipment performance

  • Participate in skills transfer and mentor junior technicians

  • Comply with all aspects of Aspect Mining's safety management system


Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship training as a Class 1 Diesel Plant Fitter

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an underground mining maintenance role

  • Knowledge of Sandvik or similar equipment preferred

  • Skilled in relevant diagnostic technology and workshop processes

  • Commitment to safety and quality work standards
