Diesel Plant Fitter

Our client, a prominent player in the mining sector, is seeking a skilled Diesel Plant Fitter to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on surface drill rigs and possess at least 3 years of experience as a diesel plant fitter.

It is essential to hold a DPF Class 1 journeyman car or have completed an apprenticeship in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on diesel-powered plant equipment, with a focus on surface drill rigs.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying the root cause and implementing effective solutions.

  • Conduct regular servicing and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

  • Complete repairs and component replacements, adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize work orders in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.

  • Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices in diesel plant maintenance.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians or apprentices as required.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel plant fitter.

  • Experience working specifically on surface drill rigs.

  • Hold a DPF Class 1 journeyman car or have completed a recognized apprenticeship in the field.
