Food and Beverage Manager

Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) is a prestigious institution of higher learning located in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to join our team at the Chinhoyi University Hotel.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for various aspects of managing the food and beverage operations.

This includes preparing the Food and Beverage budget, supervising inventory and service stocks, conducting cost analysis, menu costing, preparing monthly reports, setting controls and sales targets, marketing the restaurant, training staff/students on attachment, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained, and monitoring product and service quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare the Food and Beverage budget.

  • Supervise inventory and all service stocks.

  • Conduct cost analysis and menu costing.

  • Prepare monthly reports on financial performance.

  • Set controls, goals, and sales targets for Food and Beverage operations.

  • Implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant.

  • Train staff/students on attachment in food and beverage operations.

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage Department.

  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.

  • Monitor product and service quality to ensure guest satisfaction.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least five (5) Ordinary Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

  • Degree in Hospitality and Tourism or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification experience at a supervisory or managerial level in the food and beverage industry.

  • Excellent sales skills.

  • Well-groomed appearance.

  • Knowledge of cost controls and revenue generation strategies.

  • Clean Class Four (4) Driver's License.
